Job Vacancy: Finance Officer

Location: Kathmandu
Reports To: Finance Manager

Maiti Nepal, established in 1993, is a well-known organization working to prevent human trafficking and support survivors, especially women and children. For over 30 years, Maiti Nepal has been actively promoting gender equality and social justice in Nepal.

The organization follows a holistic approach that includes rescue, rehabilitation, education, vocational training, and livelihood support. Its mission is to protect the dignity and rights of women and children and to create a society free from exploitation, violence, and discrimination.

Key Responsibilities


  • Review advance settlements and payment documents and process payments according to organizational rules and regulations.
  • Record all expenses, income, and financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and other financial reports on time.
  • Support the administration department in fixed asset and inventory management.
  • Ensure books of accounts are updated, well-maintained, and ready for audit when required.
  • Collect and review financial reports from branch offices.
  • Monitor and guide branch offices and support them in daily use of accounting software.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, donor requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Visit branch offices to review documents and provide training or coaching to improve financial management.
  • Track advances provided to branch offices and process their fund requests.
  • Perform other finance-related duties as required during project implementation.


Qualifications


  • Master’s Degree in Management with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management with at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of accounting laws and taxation in Nepal.
